Policies
Because of the nature of many company programs, and due to customer requirements,
USURF may require a pre-employment post offer background investigation, citizenship
verification and confirmation of eligibility to work in the US. Positions at
USURF may require employees to apply for security clearances. Other employment
policies are detailed in the following sections. For clarification of any of
these policies, please contact USURF's human resources department.
Equal Opportunity Employer
Equal Opportunity in employment is an essential priority for Utah State University
Research Foundation (USURF)
and one to which the Foundation is deeply committed. USURF
is dedicated to providing an equal opportunity climate and an environment free
from discrimination and harassment. In accordance with established laws, the
Foundation prohibits discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, national
origin, age, disability, or veteran's status. In addition, discrimination on
the basis of sexual orientation for employees in all aspects of employment is
prohibited.
Affirmative Action
Affirmative Action is designed to redress imbalances of minorities and women
in the workforce. U.S. Presidential Executive Order 11246 (as amended) requires
federal contractors to take "affirmative" steps to recruit, hire and
advance minorities and women when they are underrepresented in the Foundation
and are qualified and available in the labor force. USURF
proactively undertakes good faith efforts to reach affirmative action goals.
While affirmative action goals are not established for veterans or people with
disabilities, the Foundation undertakes affirmative steps to recruit, hire and
advance people with disabilities and veterans, as required by the Rehabilitation
Act of 1973 and the Vietnam Era Veteran's Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974.
Employees with Disabilities
Utah State University Research Foundation is committed to equal opportunity
and non-discrimination as outlined in the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the
Americans with Disabilities Act. The Foundation ensures full right of access
for persons with disabilities to all terms and conditions of employment, services,
programs and activities. Employees and candidates for employment will be treated
on the basis of their ability to perform essential job functions, with or without
reasonable.
